DAYS 51-53: Nashville, Tennessee
Nashville, Tennessee, home of Country Music and all sorts of other music.
A Honky Tonk is an establishment that has at least one stage and sells "beverages", where the party rocks all day, every day. The music starts blasting at 10am and does not stop until 3am. Honkey Tonk Row in Nashville has many of these establishments and many famous musicians started their career here.
As I said, not just country music. These Rolling Stones tongues are all over the city.
This one opened only a few weeks ago and was packed!
There are several of these Pedal Taverns around town. This one got a lot of cheers going down the street.... I wonder if it had anything to do with the jiggling jeans covered butts?
That queue went around the corner and up the street!
Nashville used to be known as the Athens of the South... so they build themselves a Parthenon... same size as the original in Athens. It is quite impressive and stands in the beautiful Centennial Park.
The statue of Athena inside the Parthenon.
Geese in the pond - Centennial Park
The HoHo bus in Nashville
The capitol
A mural of Angel Wings.... great place to take a photo.
The weather was very grey and we had a few down-pours while I was there.
On the 3rd night I went to the Grand Ole Opry. It is a weekly country-music stage concert, founded in 1925 as a radio program.
Some of the entertainers were really "mature".
And some were very young.
