DAY 163 - 165: Salerno
Why
Salerno, I have been asked. It is not a tourist hub, I have been told. Exactly,
I said!
I needed a few days of normal, away from the herds (yes, herds, like cows...)
of tourists. Sorento and Capri were just too much.... I needed to get away.
I found Salerno lovely, the people were friendly and helpful, the old town centre interesting, the long walkway along the beach great, the beer cold and the cakes to die for.

Sadly, Italy is the worst
where graffiti is concerned!!!!! There is not a building that has not been
scribbled on. Only in Italy will it look this bad and will buildings be in this
much disrepair (paint flaking, plaster falling off the walls) and tourists will
still come and pay top $....
Must be the people, the weather, the history and
the FOOD!
Because cleanliness of streets and buildings etc, it ain't. Ease of speaking to the locals it ain't either. Luckily I speak "hands,
facial expressions.
These were amazing!
